The year is coming to an end, and so is our fiscal year (which ends on last of December). We are planning for an annual meeting in December where we will elect the board for Linslusen 2023. We who are in the current board have a responsibility to find members for the next board and this is why we’re writing this post. We’re wondering if perhaps you have the interest (and time) to be part of the board next year!
Some of us in the board might re-apply for the next board, and some of us are unable or unwilling to make such a commitment next year. No matter we need more people for the board, preferably the next board will have more people than the current cause when we’re more people we can do more for our members and at the same time using less time.
We have a small quiz here for more information and to apply to be in the next board.
How much time does it take to be a board member you might wonder? Well it depends on the board is the short boring uninformative answer, cause the board decides how it operates. Current board spends (by our measurements) quite some time on this however it doesn’t mean a future board will operate in the same maner.
How the current board is operating is with biweekly board meetings (both online and in the fika room), each of these meetings are supposed to take less than 1 hour, but we tend to spend between 1 and 2 hours on each meeting. Outside this each board member spend maybe 1-2 hours weekly on other administrative work for linslusen. We’ve arranged 2-3 activities per month since August which occupy at least 2 board members for the duration of the event.
If you want to be part of the board, but feel you don’t have enough time you can still apply, but you should think of how much time you think you have and bring this up on the annual meeting.
